Shifting your focus goes hand in hand with removing the word can’t from your vocabulary (Day 26) and positive thinking. When our thoughts ruminate over past events or negative possibilities, our success becomes stunted. If our thoughts are focused on positive possibilities and what we can do better, then success becomes easier.

There is and isn’t magic behind success. That statement contradicts itself, I know. The reason I say that is because we should not expect success to arrive at our doorstep. Opportunities often do magically arrive, and we are more likely to see them when are thoughts are focused on growth instead of presumption. It is wonderful to affirm that positive things will happen to us. As long as our actions match our thoughts, positive thinking works.

Even writing about this topic is somewhat daunting. I have been a victim of my own thoughts. both in the past and sometimes now. Writing about it brings back the times in my life when I was not able to shift my focus. Now, I can do it most of the time. And, I am already seeing positive results. When I started the adventure of writing this article series, 30 Days — 30 Ways, I was unsure if the steps I was outlining would be beneficial. So far, I have realized that these steps do help. If you haven’t read the other articles in this series, I suggest starting with Day 1!

If you enjoy my writing, I would be honored if you visited my blog, words are air (www.borrowedbooks.org). It is dedicated to children’s stories and articles about the intersection between education, health, and socioeconomic status. In addition, there is a section set aside for stories like this one, focused on well-being and success.

Thank you for being here! I appreciate your readership.
